Allotment Watch
Launched on 4 May 2008 the scheme aims to:

  • Increase the security and prevention of allotment related crime.
  • Offer support and reassurance to the wide range of people throughout the allotment community whilst gaining information to help reduce crime.
  • To generate a positive attitude towards the above aims by taking care not only for your own property but also that of neighbouring or nearby allotments and equipment.

Allotment Watch is seen as an important extension in our local community crime prevention

All crimes and incidents of vandalism and anti-social behaviour should be reported as soon as possible.  Should you witness any incidents please report them in the first instance to the Police on 0845 60 70 999 (999 if an emergency) who will issue a Crime Number.  The Town Council should be made aware of any reports to the Police and the crime number as soon as possible.

Smart Water Marking

It is hoped that PCSO Walker  can get into the allotments in Fort Road, Wick  on a Saturday or Sunday fairly shortly, now that the weather is changing  for the better, and mark peoples allotment property with the SMART WATER, a clear liquid with its own code, not unlike DNA., this is a real deterrent to would be thieves.
